Step 12 Stack the pieces in order from lightest to darkest. |
Step 13 Roll the stack with a brayer...
Step 14 into a rectangle that is around 2.5 inches wide. Lengthen and flatten the piece of clay, keeping it around 2.5 inches wide, until it can be rolled in the pasta machine set to its thickest setting.
Step 15 Roll, narrow end first, through the pasta machine set to the thickest setting.
Step 16 Trim off the rough edges, but try to keep the sheet close to 2 inches wide.
Step 17 Place the color gradated sheet, darker side down, onto a sheet of a background color rolled with the pasta machine at its thickest setting. For the background color, I added some black to the purple used to make the Skinner blend in step 1. Trim away the background sheet along the edges of the top sheet.
Step 18 Place these two sheets, background color down, onto another sheet of the background color rolled with the pasta machine at its thickest setting. Neatly trim away the background sheet to obtain a stack of three sheets |
Step 19 Cut in half as shown.
Step 20 Place one half on top of the other with the light sides of the color gradated portions touching.
